Born Radric Delantic Davis in Bessemer, Alabama, Gucci Mane emerged from Atlanta's thriving hip-hop scene in the early 2000s and quickly became one of the genre's defining voices. Recording through 1017 Records, So Icey Entertainment, Atlantic Records, Warner Records, and Asylum Records, he has built an expansive catalog that began with Trap House (2005), followed by The State vs. Radric Davis in 2009, Everybody Looking in 2016, Mr. Davis in 2017, Woptober II in 2019, Ice Daddy in 2021, and Breath of Fresh Air in 2023. His music blends Southern hip-hop, trap, gangsta rap, and hardcore hip-hop, earning him recognition as one of the principal architects of modern trap music.
Throughout his career, Gucci Mane has delivered influential tracks such as "Icy" (2005), "Lemonade" (2009), "Wasted" (2009), "Both" (2016), and "Wake Up in the Sky" (2018), while collaborating with a diverse roster of artists including Drake, Lil Wayne, Future, Young Thug, The Weeknd, Bruno Mars, Chris Brown, Usher, Mariah Carey, Selena Gomez, Rae Sremmurd, and Migos. Beyond his own recordings, he founded 1017 Records in 2007, a label that has helped launch and mentor artists such as Young Thug, Waka Flocka Flame, Chief Keef, Pooh Shiesty, Foogiano, and Big Scarr, further extending his influence across modern hip-hop.
